No Waffle House negative time run this year, but I did do this solve at the Boston Mensa Regional Gathering. I'm here with my wife Katie, who is a Mensan. We've been enjoying seeing old friends, and we attended an incredible Halloween wedding of two of our good friends! |

Gigaminx OH while juggling
Place | Name | Country | Negative Time | Result | Comment |
- | Ravi Fernando | USA | DNF (-+4 minutes, 47.60 seconds) | 4 drops | Start: 1:13am. Centers in 24:35, edges in a little under -30 minutes, and megaminx in about 11 minutes.
I'm usually very consistent with OH + juggling: I'd done 4-7, mega, and giga before, and had never dropped while attempting any of them. I thought the main difficulty would be time, since my previous gigaminx OH + juggling solve took almost 1:06. I was wrong. Once during the last few centers, and again after about 6-8 edges, I accidentally did a double slice move, didn't notice until it was too late to undo, and had to re-solve several centers. Then I started dropping--twice at 39 minutes, then at -10 minutes and -1 minute. I finished about (6)1 minute(s) faster than I had before, but it was still a DNF because of the drops. Maybe I should have tried a 2-7 relay while juggling instead. |
